Sizing of electrical lines

Many of the studio’s installer clients often need to quickly size electrical lines independently. Here is a simple tabular method applicable to standard low-voltage systems.

SINGLE-PHASE MAIN LINE 230V – from the pre-panel to the main panel (voltage drop 1%)

THREE-PHASE MAIN LINE 400V – from the pre-panel to the main panel (voltage drop 1%)

SINGLE-PHASE DERIVED LINE 230V – from the main panel to the terminal load (voltage drop 3%)

THREE-PHASE DERIVED LINE 400V – from the main panel to the terminal load (voltage drop 3%)
